lucky us

We got hold of U2 tickets this week. The cheapest ones, but still!! So in the end of July we will make a trip over to Dublin. Can't wait!

Been working a little this weekend. The cells wasn't cooperating on Wednesday and decided for me to work on a Saturday. I don't mind though. It's nice and quite at work during the weekends. The only thing I miss is music. We got to sort out some speakers at work.

On the way back from work I met up with Lem . We had ice cream in the sun and looked at the swans.

Not too much happens around here. My earphones died during the week and I really miss them. Our friends Ulrika and Gavin got married, but we couldn't afford to go. I hope they had a great day and I'm looking forward to the photos!

Spring is here

Spring is in the air. No rain at all this week. Things seem to get better in general. Lemmy finally got a job. A part time job in a kitchen. The money is very welcome and it's good it's not full time since he needs a lot of time for cartooning. Ah well, the only thing that needs to get better now is my job. Nothing is working at the moment and it's driving me crazy!

Paddy's Day

Today is the day in Ireland. Me and Lem went down town to see the parade and to have a pint. No... I mean it A pint. We're pretty broke at the moment. Ah well, the weather was great and the parade was pretty impressive to be in such a small town, and when you know you're only getting one pint.... it tastes sooo good.

coconut

Last weekend we ruined our only knife by trying to open up a coconut. We found instructions on YouTube, how to open a coconut... and it looked so easy. Just smashing the back of a knife against the nut... We later discovered that the best way to open a coconut is to put it in a bag and smash it against the tiles outside. Ah, well... the weather was nice!

This weekend we've been out with some friends from work. Nice and casual. The weather has been awful though. All weathers in a day including thunder storms...

A new week starts tomorrow and I really hope work will go smoothly this week. Last week was terrible, and made me really tired.

Visitor

The cells have finally arrived in the lab and very soon we can start doing some proper work over there. Though, I have to say that I'm pretty busy as it is at work, and time really flies. It feels like I turn on the computer in the morning... before I know it, it's time to turn it off and I'm on my way home. The problem is that the time flies at home as well. I get home, take my shoes off... then I'm in some sort of blur... and then I put them back on. I guess my grandmother was right when she said that the older you get the faster the time pass ;)

Anyway, this weekend we had a friend over, Jonny. He was here for a conference, but we caught up for lunch, pints, and so on. It was nice with some social life for a change. Normally me and Lem spend the weekends playing Scrabble...

Lent buns

Still don't have any money. It's amazing how little you need if you try though. The luxury item of the week was a facial creme from Nivea (about €5) that I was in desperate need of. Work is starting to become a hobby. We've spent most of the week in the lab running PCR and I love it. Now we're just waiting for the cells to arrive and some bits and pieces for the exposure equipment. Then I'm gonna work my arse off the whole spring and summer... 'cause I've done half my time in June and need to show some results by then.

I haven't started to work during weekends yet and I've tried to relax as much as possible. Having said that I haven't been lazy. Yesterday I made lent buns (see below) and today bagels! I've also managed to do some washing, cleaning and pilates.
